John Green, founded the studio after graduation in 2008, with his first product Embrace.
Over a decade later, the studio has grown into an established brand selling furniture & lifestyle products.
These can be found in private residences, restaurants and museums worldwide.

Our Process
We design, we prototype, we develop; and when it’s right we collaborate with expert manufacturers to batch produce our furniture, only partnering with like-minded people who share our design values and sustainable ethos.
Our attention to detail forms an integral part of the design process. Working prototypes crafted in our studio workshop mean we can test, deconstruct and refine. This increases the efficiency of the design and manufacturing process, and keeps the environmental impact of product development to a minimum.
Our Studio
Our small but perfectly formed studio is based in central York, UK and is home to our workshop and design space. We take a hands on approach to design, always developing ideas through material exploration and working prototypes.
As well as making bespoke components for the JG collection we also use our workshop for bespoke commissions that we feel relevant to us and to keep things interesting…
